I chose to become a financial advisor because I wanted to help families make confident decisions about their money and build lasting financial confidence for the people they love. I started investing at a young age and watched firsthand how compounding can transform a financial future. That early lesson stayed with me and eventually shaped my entire career.
What drives me now is helping families preserve what they've built and create a clear path forward, one that supports their lifestyle, their values, and the legacy they want to leave behind. I find real fulfillment in taking complex financial concepts and making them understandable, then guiding clients toward goals that reflect what truly matters to them. More than anything, I want to help prevent the financial missteps that can alter a family's trajectory in a single moment.
I specialize in legacy planning, navigating family dynamics, and investment management. When I sit down with clients, what fascinates me most is learning how they've lived their lives: the obstacles they've overcome, the wins they've celebrated, and what's genuinely important to them and why. Those conversations shape everything we build together.
I grew up in the metro Atlanta area and attended private high school and college, where I met people from all walks of life. But my family roots run deep in the north Georgia mountains, specifically Ellijay, where my family farmed apples for generations. I spent my summers picking apples and doing typical farm work, and those experiences taught me the value of hard work, discipline, and humility.
When I was fourteen, my older sister was hit by a drunk driver and left paralyzed. It was an incredibly difficult season, but I watched my family pull together and move forward with strength and grace. That experience deeply shaped my perspective on life and reinforced the importance of protecting what matters most. Today, those lessons inform my work as a financial advisor. I believe in building strong plans that act as defensive barriers around families, helping them prepare for the unexpected, preserve what they've built, and create independence for generations to come.
I live in Carrollton, Georgia, and what I love most about it is the people. It's a town that feels small and connected but offers the amenities you'd expect from a larger community. The university adds energy, the medical community is strong, and the churches here are vibrant and deeply involved.
My wife Joanie and I have been married for almost 4 decades, and family has always been at the center of our lives. We're blessed with six children, three girls and three boys, ranging in age from 30 to 19. Raising our family has been one of our greatest joys, and it's shaped how I view responsibility, commitment, and the importance of caring for the people you love.
My personal interests still reflect my roots. Farming has always been a part of who I am. Over the last three years, I've also developed a passion for playing pickleball. And when I'm looking to slow things down, waterfowl hunting is one of my favorite pastimes.
I've enjoyed giving back to the community through service and leadership. I previously served as both Secretary and President of Rotary International Club 6912, and I've also served on the leadership board for Leadership Forsyth. These experiences have been meaningful ways for me to stay connected, serve others, and invest in the communities that have given so much to my family.
